Hey people .... all these years, i thought i was smart, you know every time you look back in life, and see a situation you could have handled better, you sort of feel that you've matured since then.

But what strikes me is that such a feeling is perennial, just yesterday I was installing a BlackBerry server and all the components required for it. I mean a fresh new system altogether, the whole thing was a new experience for me. Installing and configuring the DNS, AD, MS Exchange, install the IIS, SNTP, NNTP and all. Totally into networking. Whew, can you imagine a disaster where you walk into the Manager's cabin announcing that the setup is done and we need a key for connecting to the Nokia server, and he asks you the IP and the port numbers and you give him a blank look. I mean you really remember all this stuff the time you are installing? Nevertheless lesson learnt: Keep note of what you do and its probably a good idea to write it down.

Anyways the technical stuff apart, today morning i felt that it wasn't too much from the manager's side to expect of me. I mean i know I'm capable of more. I did look up the machine configurations and now I know pretty much whatever there is to know about it.

Life will keep throwing up ... ahem, i mean keep throwing stuff at you, you just need to be ready and alert always and make sure u come out on top of it ....
